Kids for Kids Annual Poetry & Photography Contest


The 2008 theme is "Sweets and Desserts." Young people in grades K-8 can enter a photograph or poem of any type of dessert: candy, ice cream, etc.


Come to the Children's Desk to pick up an entry. All entries are due by April 25th, 2008.

The Library offers the following books discussions for children in grades 2 and above. Books are available at the circulation and snacks will be served at all of our discussions! Registration is required.

Poetry Cafe

Do you have a favorite poem that you have written or someone else has written? Would you like the opportunity to write your own poem and share it with others? Then come to our Poetry Cafe to write, share and learn about poetry all while enjoying some delicious refreshments.

Registration is required and begins Monday, March 24 at 9:30am.

Kids for Kids


Kids for Kids is a volunteer group of young people ages 8 and up who plan and sponsor programs for kids. They publish the newsletter “Kids’ World”, sponsor a poetry and photography contest, volunteer at the Library and much more. To join, stop by the Library and fill out a Kids for Kids application or call 732 521 5000 ext. 116 for more information.

The Monroe Township Library offers many quality databases that are available from our homepage. We have the many encyclopedias published by Grolier, including Lands and People, America the Beautiful and Popular Science. World Book Online and Facts on File's many science and history databases are also available. All that is needed is a Monroe Library card number to access this information.
